Zero out of the car and looked around at the parking lot. Spotting nothing that would hinder their progress, he began an approach to his home.
They would have to be careful, there were two red dots in the area and they were sitting around the room where they would have to be.
"Well, let's get this show on the road."
Zero stared at his screen, then tapped it a few times to get precise coordinates. "Looks like, they are paired. They are IN my old room. May be searching."
As Zero approached the side of one of the rooms, he reached down and checked the door. It was locked. Looking through a window, a person was sitting in a chair watching TV. Something about the way they were sitting was odd. then Zero noticed that the arms and legs were completely immobilized by some kind of restraint.
"We have more company than the two. Off frequency. Be ready.", With that Zero, ducked under the window and kept moving along towards his old room.

So is what ever we need here something that we can grab and go with or is it the place itself that we need.
Corin had never been more glad that he had even a part of someone else's experiences in his head before, falling back on the parts of Kayin's training that he still retained Corin began to make his way across the lot tword the room they had occupied before.

Zero was whispering lightly, "No idea. But this is my safe place. As long as we can get Ether Side, we will be safer, just gotta get there."
Peeking around a corner, he noticed two guys standing just around a corner. With a quick hand movement, they thumped against the wall and were unconscious.
Walking around the corner, he pulled the gear he could use from them. A walkie, the sub machine gun, a baton and a pistol.
He thought for a moment looking at the key pad on the walkie, "This is useless unless we get a code. But at least we have something to fight with that's a bit more high tech. IF it comes to a fight."

Cant you just pick the code out of one of their heads, Corin asked.
As they moved further down the path they came to another intersection a guard could be seen patroling back and forth at its end.
"When I give you the signal tap him on the shoulder with your mind" Corin said with a smile.
Sneaking quitely down the path Corin ducked behind a trash dumpster and waited, just as the guard reached the dumpster he noded to Zero, With a start the man spun around as something poked him in the back, but nothing was there, as he did so Corin stepped out and snaked an arm around his neck and another across his face.
Latching down tight he dragged the man behind the dumpster and held him till he stopped struggling, Corin smilled as Zero came up to him, "Ya know im starting to get an idea why my borther liked this so much," he said with a laugh.
Stipping the man of his gear he unceremoniously dumped him into the dumpster and shut the lid, Now lets see if we can make it too your room....

Zero grinned and whispered to Corin as he walked by the dumpster, "I cannot enter peoples mind. I am not sure what I can do anymore."
As they moved down the edge of the building walls, Zero finally stopped and looked at the whole where Zero and Corin and Psychorin battled. They were getting close. Zero moved his eyes up and down the walls and across the parking lot, looking for trouble.
"No one there. Well not here anyway.", Corin and Zero's sight shifted to the Ethereal side of things, showing several greyish figures walking around the complex. "Well, there they are. Waiting on the Ether side.", Zero said pointing to the room, "And there's the Spotter."
Zero looked at the distance, approximately 75 feet. Well more than enough space to seen and killed. Analyzing the area he shook his head and then pulled the baton. Throwing it into the center of the parking lot, the spotter looked down and readied his weapon. He spoke something into a shoulder mic, then walked to the edge of the roof, looking down to the place where the noise was made.
Zero thought of his options, his eyes shifted to that of a Viper's and he tried focusing his mind on the spotter. "Ever thought of jumping?", whispering into the air, a sinister tone about his voice.
The soldier froze in his tracks. Something about what Zero said stuck to him. The soldier was only 20 feet up, but that drop could kill, or at least disable.
Zero's whispering had begun to take it's toll. The Spotter took a step, and Zero smiled menacingly whispering once more, "It's not that far. Professionals can do that type of jump, just got to roll when you land on the concrete."
The spotter's head nodded in agreement before taking a step back. Zero's aura had shifted and the feeling of being lost began to seep into Corin's mind. A person's mind would have to be strong to withstand the pressure. As Zero was thinking and doing, the echo of those thoughts, and the effects of the dark energies Zero could damage one's good sense and stain the soul with darker thoughts.
The man took a step then leaped off the building with a bad athletic fashion. Landing on his feet, he attempted to roll and wound up face down in the concrete, a loud cracking sound being heard as his body impacted.
"Tango down.", Zero whispered as he began moving along the wall towards the gapping hole.

Corin watched as the spotter on the roof just hopped up and dropped off hitting the ground with a sicking thump, " Man you are really starting to worry me."
This craving you have to feed what happens if you do, and what happens to the person you feed from, can it be nonfatal.
Im asking because im starting to wonder if it would just be safer to let you take some of my energy to take the edge off before you get really out of control, I mean we are suposed to be trying to save these guys not kill them after all.
Also is there a way to get Eather side without being in that room or do we have to just pop in there and hope for the best.

"I know nothing of what it mean to be vampire. I know I don't want to harm anyone. I don't want this.", Zero got to the edge of the hole and popped his head inside the hall way getting a glimpse of the grey images in his room. "I think we may have to fight, but I don't think we can do those 6 Ether's and the 4 Corporeals in the room down the hallway.
Zero stepped into the hall and made his way down the hallway, taking his cell phone out and tapping on it for a moment. He silenced the phone and put it on vibrate then stuck it in his back pocket. Pulling the hand gun, he stepped to the door and placed a hand on the knob.
One of the grey images looked at the door and in an instant he was gone. He had gone to the Corporeal realm and was on the side of the door.
A car alarm in the distance went off, making all the images turn their heads as a large explosion on the other side of the complex echoed. The men all became Corporeal and could be heard running out the opposite door.
Zero opened the door, and rushed in quickly to find himself nose to nose with a guard. The guard tried to cream, but instead his mouth opened and he found his face buried in Zero's hand as he pushed his head into a wall, knocking him unconscious, a cracking sound thumped once more as Zero shut the door and walked to a wall popping a screen out of a sliding plate.
With a couple taps, the room doors shut and sealed with the sound of crackling electricity. The windows barred and became plated by shutters, and the floor seemed to glow a faint blue as the lights turned red. Zero looked to Corin, smiled and walked to the guard to tie him up.
"Now we're safe. I hope. Only problem is, this is a one way room and when we get back. We'll have to get out in a more combative fashion."
With that, Zero sat down and looked to Corin, "Let's see the scrolls."

Corin sat down beside Zero and pulled out the three scrolls, " Dare I ask what you blew up out there, and how you did it", he asked as he handed the scrolls over.
As Zero began to seperate the scrolls Corin said, " If its all the same to you I would rather see my brothers last if possible, unless they have to be read in a certain order for whatever reason.
Reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket Corin removed a small metal flask, Got anything we can use to drink out of in here, something tells me we are going to need a drink before this is over, and I snagged this on the way out of the bar earlyer, you can probably guess but yes its Quicksilver.....

Zero seemed a bit distant as Corin drank from the flask, "Um no, nothing here to drink from other than that thing you have there."
Grabbing the Ruby scroll, he rolled it out on his finger tips and shifted back as something dropped from the bottom of the roll. Picking up the small cube, he squinted looking at a small seal rune. He energized his finger and slid it across the seal, like a cutter. The cube began to hum and Zero placed it on the ground in the center of the room.
It crackled for a moment, then powered down. Zero tilted his head and then looked to Corin, "Ten years later, we can't expect them to be good I guess." Reaching down to the cube to pick it up, it lit up creating a war like zone in the room. Zero, surprised by the lights, fell to his backside and looked around at the room.
They were in the Ether, or the images were in the Ether, with a view of the entire Flamewaker Sector. Ruby was perched on the edge of what looked to be a watch tower, looking down the barrel of a large caliber sniper rifle. A clicking noise sounded and Ruby looked back to whoever was controlling the cube. She looked rough. Her face was dirty, bruises were spotted all over her body, her hair was messed up, and she had bandages on her arms, legs and across her ribs. She was smiling though. The image was as though she were talking to whoever opened this cube. The image was so pristine and clear it was as though she were standing right there and the viewer were actually there.
"Hey Kiddo. This is not the way I wanted to do this. I've been working on something and things aren't looking good here. I mean, I've got the kill count to rival Jack the Ripper and the Unibomber, but it's not making much of a difference.", holding up something on her arm showed the number '3789'. "This is my kill count. It's insane."
"This battle went south the moment we got here and I was trying to bring in something to even the odds before we left but we ran out of time." She looked back edge of the tower and fired off a couple of rounds then looked back to the person.
A screeching sound blared in the distance, making Ruby pull a rifle from her back and fire several rounds in burst form. "I'm almost out of time. Here are the schematics for the last thing Tesla and I were working on. It's..."
The image became blackened by something over head and something began hitting the tower. It shook violently and the pillars began to crack. "Zero.", she said looking in his direction, "Live your life. Regret nothing. Love you kiddo."
With that, something hit the tower and everything on the top of it became engulfed in a black flame. Ruby screamed, but somehow managed to grab whatever was holding the cube, and throw it off the tower. The falling cube rolled through the air and landed in a soft mesh of something, showing the top of the tower engulfed within a black inferno, where Ruby's screams could be heard as a black winged beast flew away.
The image faded away after a few minutes, and Zero leaned against the wall, letting it all sink in. "These are... last will...", Zero said with a quiver in his voice. "I don't know if I can do this..."

Corin sat back watching the image as it faded away, he remembered Ruby from the memory walk he had taken hot, flirty, techno, all these things kind of tumbled through his mind as he sat there.
Looking over at Zero he said, I know how what you mean I dont know if im ready for this eather but based on what we saw here they left these for a reason to help you. They always knew you would come back when you were ready.
So on that note, what was that giant ass thing that hit the tower, and how do we get those scymatics.

Zero sat thinking about the cube and the last will of Ruby Lynn Black. "Ummm.", he said with a stutter in his voice. "Uhh, If they are not in the Cube, then they will be back at SEAPA."
He pushed the cube once more and watched the images, stopping it when the black winged monster flew away. The image was somewhat fuzzy, but Zero looked to Corin, "That..."
He said pointing to the image, "...is Hybrid. My sire and worst enemy of the Wardens. He is something that no one can fight alone."
Zero inspected the image, nodding in agreement with his own statement, "A dragon, turned vampire."
The image faded away and Zero picked up the Cube that was no more than an inch in all dimensions. Shaking his head, he smiled looking to Corin, "Ruby was something. She always managed to do things with magic and technology that normal people and wardens alike would have never tried. This cube for instance, is a power source as well as memory tome. Judging by the engravings, I would say it's a central power supply. But to what, I have no idea."
He grabbed the flask from Corin and took a swig, then rolled out Piper's scroll. As the end of the scroll dropped, the sound of harmonic 'tings' could be heard as a single shell casing hit the ground and bounced a few times. Zero almost laughed as he picked it up. "This should be good." With those words, another cube fell out and lit up the room.
Piper was standing in what looked to be a warehouse, somewhere in the rafters. She was peering over the edge and was the only one who didn't look like she was beaten to a pulp. Her hair was still intact, her makeup was still perfect and she had a smile. Looking back to the individual holding the cube, she gestured for them to come over and show what was below.
Two dozen, wolf like creatures standing 7 feet in height with razor like bards protruding from their arms and back stood huddled and sniffing like they were trying to find something. Piper checked her guns and slid the chambers back making sure there was a bullet in each one. Smiling, she held up a 3 count and at the count of one, she jumped over the rail and fell some 30 feet to the dead center of the group. She took a karate like stance, and with just a moment, a hail of gun fire began to explode from the fast moving barrels of the Gun-Kata user.
In what seemed to be just mere seconds, she was spinning and firing rounds from her desert eagles faster than could possibly be counted by thought. Flames, lightning bolts, and sharp ice beamed from the barrels, piercing, exploding and ricocheting through the beasts and off walls to hit the ones that seemed to be missed. As the barrage ended, she slid to a halt, the clips falling out of the guns, landing with a thud. She quickly reloaded, and gave out a slight chuckle firing a single round blindly behind her to kill one beast that had been missed.
The camera fell to the ground and faced Piper and she faced it at the end of her assault.
"Hey Alex. As you can see, everything is good here. I just thought I would send this to you, so you could see what you were missing. I mean, Kaisers are fun to kill but you would have had a blast dominating their minds. I could just imagine you controlling like twenty or thirty of these things and we just sit back and watch as you single-handedly made them kill a ton of their little buddies. But alas, here we are, hip deep in Shit and I am out of bullets. Darius joined us after all. Apparently, the Brotherhood decided that he was no longer important and let him go. So he came in and saved my ass. You should have seen that bad ass at work with his knives and armor. But he was killed a little while ago, took a bullet for Kayin. I'll be joining him soon.", she almost seemed to blush while thinking about him.
After a moment, she looked at the cube seriously, "To tell you the truth, I always admired the power you had. You always seemed to get stronger with each battle. Something Darius and I could not do. Yea we had each other and it made it damn near impossible to kill us, but you had that single type of power. Here's what I am leaving you Alex, my last bullet. It's very special. I managed to make it with the Honored on the way here. None of us are gonna make it out of here alive, I'm delusional. We can take out a ton of these guys so that the future isn't so bleak, but we're not leaving here alive."
She ran a hand through her hair and looked around listening to the world around her. "I don't have long so here's the deal. This is the last thing I want to do before I go. Since I cannot use this bullet, I want you to. Put this between the eyes of the son of a bitch who leads these mothers. Get strong Alex. Don't let anything stop you. And if someone gets in your face, put a bullet between their eyes."
She smiled and turned around towards the warehouse doors and began to walk away. "Seeya kid.", she said waving back without looking. A loud echo boomed from the horizon, making the air in the area move towards the exits at the other end of the room, breaking glass and knocking tin walls loose. Piper began to fall backwards. Blood exploding from the back of her head as something moved through it. Her open eyes and smile were the last images captured in the cube before the room went black and Zero fell to his backside against the closest wall.
"Rest in Peace Piperia Southern. Don't you worry. This one's for you.", he said holding up the bullet between two fingers.

Corin sat back then looked at Zero, " She definatly knew how to clear a room with style, but I guess the question is what is so special about that bullet."
I wonder who was behind that battle was it Hybrid or someone else, and if it wasnt him why would he help them or be there at all.
Maybe my brothers scroll will tell us though at this point im not sure im ready to see it eather, but we have to , so when ever your ready I guess fire it up....

Zero was looking at the bullet, analyzing the markings on the bottom of the shell casing. "It's an Omni-Round. I wondered if she was going to be able to do it. No doubt with Ruby's help. This singlular bullet has enough power to stop anything Ether, Corporeal, Void, or otherwise that I am aware of. It's kind of the Warden's version of an Nuclear Bomb with WAY more blasting capabilities but less Fallout."
He was studying the bullet, "But this type of bullet cannot be fired from anything that she had on her. Or at least that was recovered. This thing has no blasting cap, has no gun powder and must be fired by other means. I wonder what the hell else she was coming up with.
Zero placed the bullet in his pocket and looked to Corin to remark to his comments, "Hybrid had no intentions to help us. He was trying to kill the ones who killed his wife and sire. He was also mentally unstable, he was fighting his nature as a Vampire, grief from the death and was totally pissed off at us for all of it. He is a ball of hatred that continues to haunt everyone in their nightmares. I hope that Kayin and Psychorin managed to kill him for the last time."
He leaned his head against the wall and breathed slowly trying to prepare himself for what Kayin's last words would be. Kayin was his friend and he looked up to him. This was going to be something that even he wouldn't be able to handle very well. He could already feel the tears welling up inside his eyes, just thinking about it. He could only imagine what it was going to be like when he was looking at a life like image of the man who helped him so much when he was younger.
Grabbing the scroll, he slowly unrolled it and frowned when it got to the bottom and another smaller scroll fell out along with what looked to be a petrified eye.
Zero looked at it with shock and shifted his weight looking at the eyeball that looked to be from a Viper. The pupil was triangular in shape and has a red outlining from what looked to be blood lines. "What the hell?"

What the heck is that, Corin asked as he leaned over the table.
Picking up the second scroll he turned it over and around in his hands then handed it back to Zero with a questioning look.
Why would there be a second scroll in there and who does it belong too? he asked....

Zero looked at the eye ball and reached down to pick it up. The pulse of power came from it, then a familiar energy surged through his mind and body, then moved into Corin. Now they both knew that this was the eye of Hybrid.
Zero froze, then looked to the scroll from which it came. "Did they actually kill him?"
The scroll was covered in a light red spatter, that had absorbed into the fabric of the scroll. Zero inspected the scroll a bit more, and ran his finger across the red. Zero thought about it then looked to Corin with a curious look, "It's dried blood."
The scroll was designed differently then the rest. Runic markings created a border that went along the edge of the fabric which was not paper, maybe silk. The runes were different, translated into something other than the usual Warden language of magic. "Shadow-helexian.", Zero said pointing it out to Corin.
Zero read it but it made no sense. It was in a dialect he could read but it made no sense at all. The context was scrambled as though in code. Analyzing the markings, he discovered a pattern, then used the pattern to decode the rest of the runes. "Lay flat, get back, be ready, keep an open mind.", he read aloud before laying the scroll on the floor and stepping towards the edge of the wall.
The room exploded with a black smoke, filling the air with some type of dust that made Zero's mind go foggy, and his senses dulled. The connection to Corin bleed the effects to him like a poison. Zero coughed and fell to his knees, thinking quickly as to what this was. It was dulling his train of thought and making him lose consciousness faster than he could think. "Reflection... shadow... dust...", were the last words he spoke before he hit the ground yet again unconscious. Seemed he did that a lot lately.
As his mind began to reconfigure to combat the smoke, his body stood looking into the battlefield known as "The final battle of Hybrid" inside the Shadow Realm. "What the hell?", he muttered looking over to Corin who had appeared a few seconds after he had stood up. "Ok. This is something I haven't done yet."

Corin staggered as the wave of power washed over him as it passed through Zero.
Could we be that lucky he asked looking over Zero's sholder at the scroll.
As Zero finished speaking the room suddenly in a black fog Corin by reflex dropped to the floor as Zero fell unconscious, but even this was not enough to keep him from passing out as the effects bled into him from Zero.
Corin's mind slowly began to awaken and he slowly opened his eyes. Raising his head he looked around he was lying on the edge of some kind of battlefield.
Rising to his feet he looked over at Zero who was already up, What was that and what do you mean this is something you havent done yet....

Zero knelt down and ran his hand across the dried ground, lifting up a handful of dirt. Letting it fall from his light grip, he watched the trickling sands fall and move towards him as the winds blew against his forward body. "This is a not the usual memory trip we have been in."
He reached behind his back and searched for a weapon to find that everything he was carrying was now gone. "Ok. We have to use our wits and whatever we find here."
He walked to Corin and looked him over in a strange caring way, looking for signs of injury. "You alright?" After a simple inspection he looked around and saw a few bodies skewered on pikes.
Boulders, craters, weapons and armor were scattered all around. His vision switched to Ether view than seemed to short out as the realm prevented the action. "This is crazy. If I am not mistaken this is Reflective Shadow Dust. It's was once created by the 1st General of the Shadows to train a massive number of troops in a short amount of time."
Zero listened to the world around, letting his ears catch whatever could be heard, but nothing came to him. This place was silent, still, and desolate. It was a strange feeling to be in a place that had no life in it. Something about this place made him shiver. "I am not sure what we are supposed to do."
The surrounding environment was calm. Zero recognized this place. It was the Shadow side of PEA when it was PEA. Apparantly, the Honored and Shadow Guardians drug Hybrid into the Shadow realm to prevent life from being in the way of the war. The PEA building was completely in disarray. Walls knocked down, windows broken, cars flipped and scorched, the top 10 floors of the building were no longer viable to get to because the top of the building was gone, it looked like a nuke hit that area and destroyed it.
Zero walked to a car and ran his fingers across the sharp edges, letting the sharpness cut him just a little. "We can be hurt here. We can assume killed as well. The 1st General was brutal like that, but when he was done, 5 people of his army were alive and stronger than anything that anyone had ever seen, we know them as the Shadow Guardians."
Zero moved slowly to some of the weapons and armor randomly scattered across the ground, this battle was fought archaically, with swords, shields, magic, runes, mental and physical abilities, armor and crossbows, no guns.
"Grab something to defend yourself with. I have a feeling that we are about to find out exactly what happened to the Honored."

Corin looked around studying the devistation around him, reaching out he begain to draw in power from this connection to the void, I dont seem to have any issue accessing my powers so I guess im set on that front, he said.
This seems to be a priety close copy of the city so given how everything else has been my first guess would be to head in the direction of Angels Lounge, unless you have any better suggestions...

Zero looked around slowly, letting his eyes move more than his head. They darted from side to side, catching the smallest movements, trying to pin point anything that might be a force against them, but after a few minutes, nothing appeared to be dangerous.
Zero focused his power into his hands, letting the energy move through his arms into his finger tip. He focused on a sword a small amount of distance away and grabbed it mentally, pulling it towards himself. The sword floated towards him then dropped as a dark energy clashed with his own but not from outside himself, from within. Something was wrong with power or mind. A feeling of hunger and desire. His eyes became darker and more feral, changing in color from their normal color to a red and purple infusion. He could feel the energy gathering at his fingertips, it surged and fused with his natural power and became something different, pulling the blade fast and quick. It sped past him, giving a slight cut across his cheek as it impaled a concrete wall. The blood pooled then fell, but before the drop could hit the ground, the wound closed.
"Ok I am going to need some practice.", he looked to Corin who seemed to be controlling his abilities better than he was his own. "Guess I need practice. I am not sure where to go from here. Guess we'll search the building."
With that, he began to walk for the building in an out of character way. He walked without hesitation or fear, without caution or thought of danger. He as definitely becoming more Alpha like, and his vampire like nature was beginning to overrun his usual mindset. He was changing, and for the moment it was not apparent if it was a good thing or bad thing.

Corin looked back and forth between Zero and the sword, then with a shake of his head he said, Maybe I should take point on this.
Corin moved down the street passing building in various stages of damage, some burning, others almost untouched, and still others so damaged it was a miracle they were still standing at all.
Coming to an intersection Corin stopped and listened various sounds of combat could be heard coming from the street to the left, holding up his hand in a closed fist he glanced back at Zero, and found he had to shake his head again. Zero was stalking, for lack of a better word, his way right down the middle of the street making no attempt what so ever at concealment, Aggression pored off him in waves almost as if he was actively searching for a confrontation.
Corin reached out and grabbed him by the arm pulling him into the shadow of the building and debris at the corner. Giving him a good shake he said, " Hey snap out of it man, you need to get your head in this, I know you have a whole new set of issues here but we need to watch each other's backs or all this crap we have been through won't mean a thing, so come on focus be the person my brother and the others knew you could and would be." Corin released Zero's arm and moved back to the corner of the building easing his head around the corner he could see farther on down the road a small group of people in various kinds of military gear were fighting a hoard of the bluish ghost things everyone called Kaisers.
Pulling back Corin looked back at Zero, " I'm going to help them, hold back and watch my back, but be careful as you said your control isn't the best at the moment.
Corin reached out with his mind remembering the feel of the combat link he had shared with the other members of the honored how it had allowed them to almost experience each other's thoughts and moves and combat strats. The link felt strange this time, he could feel Zero now with no problem both because of the combat bond and because of their own essence link, but it was almost as if four other presences were there but shrouded from contact.
Corin charged around the corner, then with a running leap he somersaulted through the air he channeled his power into his hands as he had before forming what he had come to call his void pistols. The combat was too clustered to use the cannon type shots he had used before so he began snapping off small precision shots as Piper had done taking out several of the phantoms and providing himself a safe place to land, then as he landed with only a minor thought the weapons in his hands began to morph back and forth as he fought.
Moving into a variation of Kayin's hand to hand style he dropped a few more of the creatures stabbing them in the head and throut with daggers . As he moved through the cluster of creatures Corin couldn't help but think the others especially Ruby would have found his hilarious, without even realizing it was flowing through his own version of Pipers gun kata but with a twist of each of the others added in. He punched and kicked and stabbed and shot almost as if it was a dance as his power morphed the weapons of choice through was ever stages he needed at the moment, pistols, knives, and knuckles.
He wasn't as flawless as they probably would have been he took several cuts, claws and hits himself, some of which he was able to absorb with a form of void armor but some still got through.
Finally as the last of the specters fell he dropped to one knee breathing hard but still surveying his surounding. Catching his breath he rose and looked over what remained of the group of soldiers, " Is everyone ok" he asked ....

Zero was becoming something arrogant, cocky and hardheaded. A shroud had overcome his aura, making the energies within it become darker and more violent. His attitude was shifting and he didn't even seem to know it. The energies he was giving out would give the living chills and the dead 'odd vibes'.
As Zero's arm was snatched he stared at Corin as though he were going to kill him, murderous blood red eyes staring him down. After a moment and Corin's scolding tone, Zero shook off the negative effects and his eyes shifted back to normal. "Ok. I'll back you." He shifted next to a wall and focused his eyes on the militia who were hunkered down against the mob of Kaisers. Their were so few militia and so many Kaisers. Where was the pack leader? With this many Kaisers in one place, there would have to be at least one within close distance.
Zero's eyes searched the horizon, the buildings and the surrounding environment. Nothing stood out, and nothing made him leery. As Corin did the dance of death, Zero smiled and watched, every once in a while, stopping a lethal attack from connecting to Corin. Zero's eyes fixated on the Militia. Looking at their gear. Heavy, thick, covered in runes and fully enclosed. These guys were meant to fight the dogs of war, and the dogs were at a disadvantage.
As Corin's dance ended the soldiers raised guns and looked to Corin as he asked of their status. Zero appeared next to Corin in an instant, no movement could be seen, he just 'was there'. The soldiers looked at him with fear and began to back away. "Who is your superior? Who do you answer to?", Zero asked as one of the guards pointed back behind him at the PEA building.
"It's him... what do we do Sarge?", one of the soldiers asked. A bigger than normal man stepped out with his weapon and held out a hand to Corin, ignoring Zero altogether. "Thanks man. We were starting to run low on ammo. We need to send someone to get some more."
Zero tilted his head and looked back at the building, trying to sense who and what may be in their. Nothing came out, nor into his senses. Something was very off.
"We are the 15th Heavy Defense Squad. I'm Jarjak. Who are you?", the Sergeant asked Corin then looked to Zero. "We know about you. We'll let the boss talk to you.", he told Zero with an aggressive like tone.
"Did I miss something? I am not the enemy here.", Zero said in response, stepping away from the group.
"Corin. You handle everything here. I'm gonna hold and help these guys with the next group."
The Sergeant took a step back, "You're funeral. We're falling back. We can't be out here to much more. You're welcome to come Mr.Corin, but he stays here.", pointing to Zero.
Zero shook his head and looked at Corin, "Go ahead. I need a good fight, gotta burn off this energy."
It was then Zero and Corin should have both realized that the Honored were dead but not gone. There was one energy that was very strong and coming from the building, but the others were so feint that the only conclusion is that they had past away but were somehow still moving through this realm, maybe in spiritual form.
Zero turned and felt the surge of energy build in him once more. "Go. I got this.", said in a almost demonic tone. As Zero turned away, a large pack of Kaisers began to pour into the street from down the road. Zero knelt down and tied his shoe, then in that instant was gone, the explosion and lifting of a wall of flying Kaisers in the distance told Corin that Zero was off for destruction and it was probably for the good.
The sergeant turned and pointed to the building, "Let's go men. He wants it, he's got it, we need to resupply. GO go GO!" With that the small group of 5 troops and the Sergeant began a dead run towards the PEA building.
Zero was apparently slipping, because every so often a Kaiser would be on their heels, to be felled by a fast spin and pull of a trigger from one of the shoulders. This was apparently a practiced maneuver because they didn't lose one step in the heat of the moment.

Corin shook hands with the sargent, " Im Corin".
Corin nodded at Zero, " Thats fine just make sure to keep your head level and meet us back at the building when your done"
Turning back to the Sargent he said, " I will get you and your men back to PEA, Zero will catch up later. I know that the first block or two is clear because we came in that way, but beyond that I have no idea. I will scout ahead of you and your men as best I can, and flush out any attackers. Watch my back and try to conserve your ammo as much as possible in case we run into a bigger problem than I can handle alone.
" Lets move", Corin said turning and heading out back the way they had come. The first few blocks were clear as they had expected, but once they passed the point he and Zero had appreared it became a whole different story. Most of what they came across were just the normal kaiser footsolders but the closer they got to the main PEA building the resistance began to get heavyer and heaver.
As Corin came to another intersection he stopped and ducked behind an overturned vehicle scanning the road ahead he motioned for the sargent and his men to move up to where he was. This is going to be a bit tricker he said pointing to the road ahead. I will go in first and try to draw their attention I need you and your men to spot shoot from here till I can clear the most of them.
With that Corin begain to work his way forward darting from one place of cover to the next as he scanned the massive array of creatures for lack of a better description that lay before them. Some of the creatures looked to be massive dogs while others looked as if someone had taken a man and an animal of some kind and crossed them. Corin drew power from the void allowing it to permeate his body and restore his energy, then he dashed out channeling his power he fired off shot after shot dropping the closest of the void beasts as he moved into closer range with me man like beasts he switched to a closer range melee style dropping any that got too close. He could hear the sargent shouting order to his men and every few seconds a shot would ring out and one of the beasts would fall as it begain to get too close to him from some odd angle that he had not seen.
After what seemed like forever the last of of the pack fell leaving him standing in a large circle of boddies and feeling winded, drawing again on his void power for energy Corin motioned the men forward again. Nice shooting he said with a smile. If we cut through here it will bring us out about a block from the office, but im starting to worry the closer we get the heavyer the resistance is getting they are definatly trying to keep everyone cut off from the main building so there is no telling what we will run into next.
Turning they headed down an alley between a pair of larger buildings stopping along the way and cutting through a couple of fences brought them out as pridected about an block and a half from the main entrence of PEA. As they emerged from the alley and begain to cross the last three hundred or so yards a massive energy spike suddenly collesed off to the right followed by a ear ringing roar. Turning Corin saw something he had hopped to not see again. An insanely large being had suddenly appeared and was slowly moving to block their path. It appeared humanoid in shape with massive arms and a head that was almost dome shapped, but where it should have had a lower body and legs instead just came to a tappered point. It moved by simply glidding across the ground.
Oh crap Corin thought a Juggernaut ghost, " Scatter" he yelled to the sargent and his men as the beast sent an epicly sized wave of energy raining down on them. The warning unfortunatly didnt come in time for two of the men as they froze with deer in the headlights expressions on their faces. They were instantly vaporised as the blast hit where everyone had just been standing leaving no trace of them behind.
" Make a run for the building I will draw its attention we cant handel this alone" Corin yelled. Then turning back Corin visualised the only thing he could think of and unleashed a massive blast of void energy from what appeared to be a shoulder fired bazooka catching the monster in the side of its bubble shapped head.
Hey stupid im the one you want lets see how you do against someone trained by the Honored. The beast let out another roar turning now focused on him and him alone.
Corin reached deep into the battle connection sending Zero or anyone for that matter a message,im going to need some help here got a Juggernaut on my hands and not sure I can deal with this alone. Out of the corner of his eye he saw what remained of the 15th crossing the last bit of ground and entering the blasted out lobbey of the PEA building. God I hope that got that got through Corin thought as he begain running fireing as he dodged the rain of energy blasts there were now comming his way...

Zero was piled high with bodies. He rushed into the mass of wolf-like creatures and while he was at it, letting his powers fly to their maximized abilities. He was gauging his movements compared to the power he was launching. It only took his about 5 minutes in actual combat to figure out he had doubled in mental capabilities. It used to be that he could shift a finger and lift a person of about 150 pounds. Now, he could shift a finger and lift 3 of these things at 300 pounds each. But each time he used his abilities, he could feel the overwhelming hunger of power wash through him. And since he had not fed on much since his official turning. He was gradually using borrowed power and soon he would be out of his own ability.
The thrill of battle filled his lungs and and entered his mind. But the fatigue of power use had finally run him thing. He had begun to take hits that he should have been able to avoid, he should have been able to block or deflect, but he was slowing down, getting weaker.
As he began to fade from his own mind. Something truly powerful overtook him. The feeling of companionship, the connection of the Honored and Corin's call bringing his mind back to a controlled way.
He didn't know anything about being a vampire, but he remembered the small feeding he did to Corin, it was just like eating a cookie... without fingers... or a mouth...
Reaching out with the last of his energy, tendrils of power and energy lashed out, connecting him to the Kaisers. Dozens of Wolves frozen in place, paralyzed by electricity neither ether or void. He could feel their power, draining into him. A darkness overwhelming him like an ocean of water filling his body. It felt evil, but there was a silver line of good in their. He focused on that, that little bit of hope that would allow him to keep his humanity.
The wolves began to howl like nothing before, then soon after they fell, and began to disintegrate into dust.
Zero was standing in the middle of two dozen wolves dead, that turned to sand as the winds blew. Corin's call made his eyes shift to red and he looked towards the call and smiled.

Energy waves flared around the Juggernaut, each wave pushing outwards and creating waves of destruction in their wake. Soldiers were forced to take cover or be eradicated like some that couldn't get out of the way. The body of those hit were shredded and eviscerated like a slab of beef. Blood, sinew, bone and matter were torn asunder and scattered as the force of the attacks moved through them like the winds of a twister.
It roared and screamed high pitch wales that shook the broken glass and vibrated metals. It deafened anything living and the look of it's struck fear into all those dumb enough to try and stare at it directly. Soldiers fired magical crossbows and some more modern weapons embued with runes, but the sheer power of its aura deflected the rounds or just flat out stopped them before they could deliver their damage.
Energy waves from monstrous arms, moving violently as though shadowboxing, were directed as Corin and one other individual who seemed to be dodging the attacks just fine. She would phase in and out of the attacks path as it came in her direction. Though soon the phasing would be seen as sheer speed. This person was moving at such a rate that she would leave an after image in her wave, confusing the Juggernaut to attack it instead.
Corin would dodge a lot of attacks, but every couple would come ever so close to destroying him and everything around him. As those attacks would get within breathing range, something would stop it. A mild energy that would completely null the attack and allow Corin to regain his footing, balance and focus. Patricia would be the one holding her own to help Corin in this time of need.
After several minutes, the Juggernaut seemed to get pissed off more than it already was. It bellowed deeply, breaking anything that was not as hard as concrete. The vibrations through bones would create something as painful as being shattered from within, except, Warden's skeleton would keep it from doing so being fused with magic, but it would still hurt like hell.
The bellow would continue for a full minute, shattering glass, cracking concrete and vibrating steel to the point of creating visual lines of its intensity and bowing nature. After the bellows quit, the Juggernaut began to glow an eerie green color. The swirl of its aura and color would become blue and the emotional energies it created would become red. The mixture of these colors gave quite the show as the Juggernaut began to shed its skin and crack in different places. The cracks and lines began to intersect, making pieces of the monstrous and nightmarish being fall off. Soon the outer shell would fall off completely and 3 smaller but just as powerful Juggernaut ghosts would come from the once huge body to make up 3 large bodies. This was no Juggernaut ghost, it was something more rare and destructive, the Dreadflare. A hive of ghosts who have become one with the ability to split into an army when the time was needed. In this case, 3 Juggernaut ghosts had come together and fused, now working with a single purpose- destroy everything.
Each Juggernaut began to attack Corin and Patricia, one to Corin and two to Patricia. She wasn't nearly fast enough to evade the attacks of the two, but her barriers seemed to be helping out with mitigating all of the damage she would be taking, but now she was unable to move, being caught in a pincer between two Juggernauts with a non-stop onslaught of attacks.
Zero appeared above one of them and in an instant barreled down onto it's top side creating a crater into the street. Patricia flashed next to Corin and together they would have to defend against the two remaining Juggernaut ghosts together.
"You are the Sword, I am the Shield. Let's do this. We have to hold out until reinforcements come along.", she said calmly and she breathed heavily and took position just behind Corin, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I got you back. By the way, who was your friend? He is not familiar to me."
Zero attacked with everything he had. Using psychic energy to battle the titanic ghost under the streets. All he could do was ward off the attacks, trying to buy Patricia and Corin time to get something done with their two. The feeding from the Kaisers had given him so much strength it was unreal. But there was a downside, he had absorbed there feral energy. He was attacking more like animal than human, and his thirst for blood was ravaging his mind.
The connection to Corin, would allow him to feel Zero's mind battling for control. It was like Zero was falling into darkness, holding onto a single rope made of light. The darkness was attacking him, but it seemed as though Zero was stable, a bit darker in nature than normal, but mentally more stable than when they arrived.

Corin was begining to get tierd all the running and dodgeing was begining to take its tole.
Corin again tried to dodge as the ghost let loose its latest roar, but lost his footing as he landed from the jump, oh this is going to hurt he thought as the wave of distruction came crashing down on him. As it was about to hit something caused it to be shunted away so that it hit the ground several feet in front of him, looking around he saw the last person he would have ever expected or wanted to see.
Patricia had emerged from the PEA building at some point since Corin had ingaged this monster and was now drawing it attention away from him. As she lay in attacks of her own she seemed to be shunting the ghosts attacks so that they eather slid by or shielding herself so that they had little to no effect on her.
Corin regained his footing and begain throwing attacks of his own at the ghost he didnt know why she was here but at this point it really didnt matter that monster had to go down one way or the other.
Finally after what seemed forever the ghost stopped and begain to flash multiple colors and its body begain to crack and fall apart, Corin came to a halt and dropped to the ground breathing hard finally thank god that is over he thought, but just as the monsters body begain to fall apart it instead broke apart into three smaller versions of the monster they had just been fighting.
You have got to be kidding me Corin said as he sprange backward off the ground as one of the three smaller ghosts charged at him, he could see the other two as they charged to engage Patricia. This was quickly becomming a fight they could not win when suddenly a massive energy source appeared overhead and came rocketing down like a spear hitting one of the two ghosts fighting Patricia crushing it down into a crator in the ground, Zero had arrived.
As Patricia appeared behind Corin and spoke he had to just shake his head these damn scrolls were becomming more and more a pain he thought as he spoke over his shoulder to her, You will know shortly but now matter what you see remember he is a fiend and we can explain everything after this thing is delt with. With that Corin did the last thing he really wanted to do, but their survival was more important than his happyness, reaching out he brought Patricia into the battle mind allowing all the sencations and information to flow between the three of them showing who they were and why they were here.
It also reveilded the connection between them and Corins concern for how far Zero was slipping out of control. Reaching out with his mind Corin latched onto the the part of Zero's mind that clung to the light and poured a part of his energy and his pation and his control into it willing him to pull himself back up to take control.
At the same time he was fighting to ballance Zero in his mind he was trying to force the two ghosts back, Patricia was keeping most all the attacks at bay so Corin switched his tactics to attacking. Corin drew in as much energy from the void as he could handle then using his brothers CQC style he drew both ghosts in close together then as he had done before he slammed his palms into the ground before him allowing that energy to erupt outward before him engulfing the two ghosts in a massive void exploision, sending them flying backward away from them.
Rising the two ghosts begain to advance again as if they were simply ignoring the multitude of shots and blasts he continued to send their way, this was quickly becomming a loseing endevor it was taking everything he had to hold onto Zero and to hold these things at bay all he could do was hope that Patricia could keep them guarded and that the help she spoke of got here soon....

Images of a dark shadow being fighting a being made of luminescence began to ripple throughout Corin and Patricia's minds. The grip on Corin's shoulder tightened as the face of something much more destructive than normal began to invade her thoughts.
She was following behind Corin's movements with precision and speed, step for step, keeping pace with his attacks while simultaneously deflecting shots and powerful blows from two ghosts things hellbent of total destruction.
As the images flooded both their minds, pings of pain and urges of control began to cut into Patricia's mind as she seemed to focus more on the discovery of this feeling. She was feeling out what it was, Corin could tell she was trying to figure out the source of the effects.
"Who is your friend? He is powerful but something is off about him. Yet, something seems familiar about him.", Patricia spoke in Corin's mind. Barriers of different colors and shapes deflected what could be deflected, and blocked what could be blocked but soon the "Shield and Sword" would find themselves corners between the two beings once more.
The grounds beneath them began to rumble and a place about 50 feet in front of them began to rise. Like a bubble beginning to rise from underneath the earth. Many emotions and thoughts began to course into Corin and Patricia. Pain, sadness, anger, violence, aggrivassion, and a burning sensation. It was as thought Zero was being pounded into and slammed into everything under the grounds. After a few mninutes, the ground exploded and a black smoke exploded from a manhole in the street. A black streak flew high into the air, creating a spiraling pattern as it ascended hundreds of feet into the air.
Seconds passed, the third Juggernaut rose from the street and the world got a little smaller as it began its descent towards Corin and Patricia.
"Wahhh!", was heard from high as the black spiral came crashing down in front of them. As it landed, the smoke dissipated and the ground cracked as it landed very hard. As the smoke cleared, Zero was sprawled out like spider man, apparently landing just like that. He coughed and stood looking back towards the "Shield and the Sword". "Wow, that hurt. You ok... buddy?", his voice trailed looking at Patricia with sadness in his eyes.
Patricia was taken back. She looked at Zero in surprise then something solidified inside her mind. The three of them could feel her confidence soar, as though seeing Zero was what she needed. "Hey... Alex? What are you doing here? How did you get here? I'm so glad you came to help. Thank you for saving us. What made you come back?", she babbled on and on for a minute before stopping and placing a barrier between them and the Juggernauts.
"You got a plan Alex? No one takes on 1... much less 3. We'll talk after we get these guys gone.", Patricia said, Alex nodded in response and looked to Corin. "Thank you Mr.Windblade. You would have made your brother proud."
With that Zero smiled and looked back to the enemies at hand. "Let's get to that family reunion shall we." With that Zero stepped next to Corin and smiled at Patricia. "Duel-Wielding. You are 'The Shield', we are "The Swords", let's go."
Zero synced his mind with Corin and Patricia's. The bounds between them all becoming something like the Honored. They could feel each others pains, emotions, thoughts, the feeling of power, the battle with darkness with Zero, the tranquility within Patricia, and the confidence with Corin. Zero smiled remembering this feeling. He had forgotten it's true power. He breathed slowly and let the feeling overtake him, but kept the vampirism hidden. He let his emotions seep into them, quadrupling the effectiveness of their power. His vampire ability giving them augmentation generated from his emotions. "I think I may be getting the hang of this. Something good finally from something bad."

Corin laphed to himself as the as the look of shock crossed Patricia's face as she realised who was with him.
Feeling the Honor meld, as he had come to call this linked and enhanced state of mind during combat, fulley setteled into place and the massive power boost comming to them from Zero hit Corin could feel his exhaustion falling away and a new level of power riseing in its place.
Corin fired off a shot of void energy toward but completely missing the three ghosts it hit the ground about 20 feet behind them leaving a blackened hole the size of a dinner plate in the ground. Looking to each of the other two he said when I give you the signal I need you to push and hold those three back to that spot but word of warning you do not want to be there yourself.
With that said Corin begain drawing in massive amounts of void energy more than he had ever utalized at one time before, a shadowy fog begain to slowly rise from his body as he comtinued to draw in more and more power, then he begain to fire random shots into the air, as he did he still continued to draw in more and more void energy, he begain to resemble an inverted sparkler sending black sparks.
Finally after several minates he dropped to one knee as he yelled now, and with a focused blast of mental energy Zero shoved the three ghosts back as Patricia wrapped them in barrier walls preventing them from escaping, With a smerk Corin looked up at the three ghosts and said this is going to suck for you guys, but as they say when it rains it pours.....
As that statement was finished the first of the impacts began and within seconds it did indeed look as if it was raining, only these were minature energy blasts instead of rain drops, they fell harder and harder exploding and driving the ghosts into the ground leaving an imploded well about 20 feet across and about 30 feet deep as it battered and blasted the ghosts down.
Finally as the rain subsided Corin looked around glancing up at his friends to exhausted to rise yet, God I hope that was enough if not to destroy them to at least trap them till we can make a run back to the building but im going to need a hand im about wipped out....

The Juggernauts began moaning something fierce as the void space began to draw them in. Patricia had made several bubbles that surrounded each individual Juggernaut, then created a field outside of the blasting zone to keep anyone from going in or coming out. the outer barrier began to shrink and force the evil ghosts into the well.
Zero reached out with everything her had and gripped them with his psychokinesis. He pushed as hard as his mind would let them. There was more energy here now than normal and he was having a hard time pushing through it. Apparently the bond between the three of them wasn't augmenting him. He focused and let instinct take over. The grounds ahead of the three began to crumble and split as his energies began to collide with the magical forces.
The Juggernauts raged against the barriers and energies that trapped them. An explosion erupted, and flames filled the barrier, creating cracks and shifts in the earth. When the flames stopped, the Dreadflare screamed, but not before it was finally pulled into the hole that faded away as the compiled powers faded.
Patricia and Zero huffed, Zero leaned down and grabbed Corin lifting him to his feet. "We've got to work on your stamina.", Zero laughed. "Let's get to PEA."
Patricia followed slowly looking at Zero from behind. She seemed a bit nervous, like something was bothering her. Zero let Corin down when he was feeling better and smiled, "I will scout ahead, make sure you have a clear path. You guys get to the building."

Corin just shook his head as Zero vanished to go scout ahead he wasnt sure what would find since they were only a couple of hundred yards from the entrence of the PEA building, mostly he figured he was just trying to avoid Patricia for the moment not that he could blame him.
Turning he studdied her for a minate as they began making their way back to the building entrence, " Seemes a proper introduction is in order now that you know who is with me. My proper name is Corwin Windblade, I prefer Corin, I am Kayin's brother, and you look like you have some questions....

Patricia gave a long look towards Zero's vanishing act. He moved differently then he did before, he seemed more aggressive, more powerful and something darker than she knew before. "I didn't know Kayin had a brother.", she looked at him surprisingly. "I am Patricia, my father used to run the Wardens before all of this."
She seemed a bit distant for a moment, then looked back to him, "Questions? Yes. I have a few. Where did you meet Alex? I haven't seen him for a few weeks but he seems off."
She stopped at the edge of a building and looked around a corner, then continued walking. "You use Void energy, yet you are not Void Walker, how is that? Were you not trained with the other Void Walker soldiers? Did you escape Verisgrad?"
As they approached the building, Zero appeared in front of them. He seemed a bit confused, his eyes were their normal purple hue and he was watching Patricia out of the corner of his eye. He looked from left to right and right to left, turning to face the dozen or so readily armed soldiers walking in his direction from the entrance of the building. Patricia waved them off, and like good little soldiers, they just stopped and stood at a side as they all walked between to lines of men. They fell in behind them as they passed, blocking an escape.
Zero watched them closely as each one of them took a position behind him. They had fallen into a half circle formation, to escape a person would have to go towards the building, but Zero just shrugged and walked behind Patricia.
"I think maybe you should go first Patricia. We are unknown variables in this war, you'll need to pad the welcoming.", Zero said looking to her.
Patricia walked ahead of the two of them and as the few soldiers greeted them, she moved them along, and they made their descent towards the top of the building.
